Description
Experience a truly unique day filled with fun, adventure, and Cypriot tradition — perfect for families and nature lovers alike!
Your journey begins as we travel through charming villages and picturesque orange groves, leading to the beautiful Xeros River Valley near the village of Kelokedara. This serene location is home to the famous Argonaftis Donkey Farm, a peaceful haven created to protect and care for the beloved Cyprus donkeys under expert veterinary supervision.
The farm also serves as an open-air museum of Cypriot folk art and rural life, offering a glimpse into the island’s agricultural traditions.
Upon arrival, you’ll receive a warm Cypriot welcome and have the chance to taste authentic local products straight from nature’s bounty — including village wine, “Zivania” (the local firewater spirit), and the sweet dessert wine “Commandaria.” Enjoy traditional delicacies like Halloumi cheese, olives, fresh oven-baked bread, carob syrup, honey, and loukoumia (traditional sweets).
Take a leisurely stroll around the stone buildings and visit the Museum of Agricultural Art, where you’ll learn how Cypriots once made wine, Zivania, and olive oil centuries ago.
Next comes the highlight of the day — a fantastic donkey ride through the peaceful countryside, led by our professional staff to ensure comfort and safety. The ride leads to the 14th-century Monastery of Panayia tou Sindi, a UNESCO-restored monument that received the EUROPA NOSTRA Award in 1997 for its cultural significance. Here, you’ll have time to relax, enjoy the tranquil surroundings, and taste some seasonal fruits.
Back at the farm, hop aboard a vintage Bedford village bus for a nostalgic ride — a unique chance to relive a piece of Cyprus’ past.
Then, enjoy a traditional BBQ meal featuring homemade Cypriot specialties, paired with local wine, Zivania, and juice for the children.
As the evening unfolds, our talented dance team will take the stage with a lively show of Cypriot folk dances and international music. Feel free to join in the fun — maybe even try the famous “Syrtaki” dance!
Before you leave, you’ll receive a special diploma certifying your participation in all the day’s activities — a perfect souvenir of your unforgettable Cyprus adventure.
This is a one-of-a-kind experience blending nature, culture, and entertainment — a day full of joy, tradition, and authentic Cypriot hospitality that both young and old will cherish.
